In contrast to its competitor Marvel, things didn't go so well for DC in the past, both at the box office and with critics and fans. However, the recent release of the Joker movie with Joaquin Phoenix has changed this, as he received both first-class reviews and box-office takings beyond the one billion dollar mark. DC's plan for the future is to continue to produce films that stand alone. In addition, Bad Robots, a company owned by successful producer J J Abrams, has won a first-look deal with Warner...

The internet exploded when the Star Wars series The Mandalorian was released on Disney+ earlier this month, because suddenly the internet was flooded with memes about the quite sweet baby Yoda. The problem: Disney was not prepared for the huge hype and so there was no Baby Yoda Merch. Now Disney has printed the portrait of the Mini-Yoda on several articles in order to make as much profit as possible with the still continuing hype. But this shot backfired quite a bit, because what Disney presents looks pretty unloving. The fan community isn't too enthusiastic either, which is why it's better to concentrate on the much funnier memes in the future...

With Saints Row and Uncharted, two well-known video game adaptations are about to be released. While some are looking forward to seeing their favourite game in the cinema soon, others believe that bringing successful video games to screen is not a good idea at all. Likewise, Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, recently explained in an interview with TheWrap why there is still no GTA film. According to him, it is not a problem to finance such a project, but rather the fact that the people in charge at Take Two simply lack the expertise to produce a feature film or a TV series...

Godzilla and King Kong were supposed to meet on the big screen at the beginning of 2020, however, now Godzilla vs King Kong will shift back eight months. There isn't an official statement, but nevertheless the postponement shouldn't really surprise anyone, because after the so-called monster verse of Legendary Films and Warner Bros achieved quite decent box-office results in 2014 with Godzilla and 2017 with Kong: Skull Island, this year's Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters went much worse at the box office. So it's no wonder that they will now pay even more attention to Godzilla vs Kong not becoming a flop...

Although its immediate predecessors received rather mixed reviews, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is one of the most awaited films of the year. Of course, many fans want to know how the Skywalker saga comes to an end almost 42 years after the first film, but nobody would have thought that instead of going to the cinema they could simply bid for the entire script on Ebay. Already on Monday director J J Abrams confirmed that the script is actually real. Allegedly an actor forgot his script under a hotel bed, after which a cleaner found it and passed it on. Shortly thereafter it is said to have occurred on Ebay. Disney was lucky because first of all nobody believed in the authenticity of the script and second of all it was actually bought by a Disney employee...
